The Laidback Gourmet: Hood’s Sugar Cookie Eggnog

Tis the Season to be Reviewing…

As has quickly become tradtition, how about a little Christmas music to enhance the mood?

Pozdrevlyayu s prazdnikom Rozhdestva is Novim Godom and welcome to the Laidback Gourmet and we are in full blown Christmas mode here. You know what that means! EGGNOG! Now, I know all my faithful readers know how much I love eggnog as I previously mentioned in my Eggnog Ice Cream review, well this time I’m look at the non-frozen variety. But its not just regular eggnog, oh no. Today we’ll be looking at Hood’s Sugar Cookie Eggnog.

Hood makes a variety of flavored eggnogs, such as Cinnamon Eggnog, Gingerbread Eggnog, Golden Eggnog, Pumpkin Eggnog, and the one we’ll be looking at today, Sugar Cookie Eggnog. I’d review them all but I wont be for two reasons. 1, these things aren’t cheap. 2, and more importantly, I’m afraid my heart my burst clean out of my chest and take out a 2 block radius when it does so. Sort of like a spirit bomb of cholestorol.

Big D: “Call it a Genki Dama or you’re fired!”

Ok, ok, it’s sort of like a Gunky Llama of cholestorol, happy?

Big D: “Close enough.”

It’s the holidays so I’m going to break out the good glasses for this eggnog.

Let’s open this up and see what we got. Hmm, not a bad smell, really DOES smell like sugar cookies. This is going to be interesting. Let’s pour out a glass.

A Toast! Happy Holidays to you and yours, and a very happy, healthy, and prosperious new year. Cheers.

Wow, this is good! While I think I still prefer standard eggnog, this stuff is really good. It’s quite vanilla in flavor and really does taste like you are drinking a sugar cookie. Now I know what we can fill Cookie Monster’s IV bag up with. “JUST HOOK IT TO MY VEINS!!!”
Long story short (too late) this one is pretty darned good and if you can get past the idea of drinking a cookie you should check this one out. 8/10.
